The complex at Vosmaerstraat 1-321 was built in 1914 and served as an Observation house for boys for the HvO association until 1954. After that, it was used by an independent foundation and in 1970, the now vacant building was squatted. In 1976, the building came under the
management of the Amsterdam Municipal Housing Authority, and residential groups for young people were created. In 1985, the building was renovated again to include residential groups with shared HAT units. Through a house swap, Vosmaerstraat came into the possession of the housing association Intermezzo, which merged with the housing association DUWO in 2005.
The building was designated a municipal monument in 2009.
